Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, April 15 (Reporters Feng Xinran and Dong Xue) — On the morning of April 15, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and President of the Communist Party of China, held talks with Su Linh, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and President of the Communist Party of Vietnam, who was visiting China for a state visit.

Xi Jinping once again congratulated Su Linh on his election as President of Vietnam. Xi Jinping pointed out that your immediate visit to China after being elected President of Vietnam reflects your high regard for developing China-Vietnam relations. It is believed that under the strong leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by Comrade Su Lin, Vietnam will firmly follow the socialist path and forge ahead toward the "Two Centenary Goals" of Party and country building. No matter how the international situation changes, China has always prioritized Vietnam as a peripheral diplomatic focus, is willing to uphold its original aspiration, continue friendship, unite and cooperate with Vietnam, support each other, continue to promote comprehensive strategic cooperation with high quality according to the overall goals of the "Six Mores," accelerate the building of a higher-level strategically significant China-Vietnam community with a shared future, and make greater contributions to building a community with a shared future for mankind.

Xi Jinping emphasized that the Party's leadership is the most essential feature and greatest advantage of socialism. Defending the socialist system and the Communist Party's ruling position is the greatest shared strategic interest of both China and Vietnam. Both sides must maintain a high degree of strategic clarity and strong strategic resolve, always firmly uphold confidence in the path and the system, and persist in the direction of reform and the color of change.

Both sides should fully leverage the special role of inter-party channels, maintain close high-level exchanges, and consolidate political mutual trust. We must make good use of mechanisms such as high-level meetings, theoretical seminars, cadre training, paired exchanges, and local cooperation, implement the new round of cooperation plans between the Communist Party of China and the Communist Party of Vietnam, and deeply carry out the exchange and mutual learning of theories and experiences in Party and country governance. We must prioritize maintaining political security, make good use of the "3+3" strategic dialogue mechanism for diplomacy, national defense, and public security, and continuously strengthen education on the ideals and beliefs of the younger generation in both countries.

Both sides must work together and walk the path of modernization hand in hand. We must accelerate the alignment of development strategies and prioritize infrastructure connectivity. Cooperation should be strengthened in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and the Internet of Things. China welcomes more high-quality Vietnamese products entering the Chinese market. Both sides should continue to strengthen friendly exchanges and cooperation in tourism, culture, media, education, health, sports, and other fields, promoting mutual understanding and affinity between the peoples of both countries. I am willing to join you in announcing the launch of the 2026-2027 "China-Vietnam Year of Tourism Cooperation."

Both sides should uphold the banners of peace, development, cooperation, and win-win cooperation, jointly oppose unilateralism and protectionism, and safeguard the stability and smooth flow of the global free trade system and industrial and supply chains. We must work together to implement the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, Global Civilization Initiative, and Global Governance Initiative to jointly address global challenges. This year marks the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and ASEAN. China is willing to strengthen coordination and cooperation with regional countries to promote the building of a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future.
